Wildflowers of Sweden's alpine region... help with ID on two if you can...

collage of images as described
It seems my notes weren't as complete as I'd thought... I know the Common Yellow Violet and the Forget-me-not... but I do not know the two flowers on the right side of the collage (see ADDENDUM below for update on one of the unknowns). Click the collage for larger view; for the two unknowns, a closer view of the top right and/or bottom right may help with an ID if you think you know either of them. And if you do, please advise! And thanks for looking. I will be traveling soon and may find it difficult to post while on travel. In the meantime, this is my post for Macro Monday over at Lisa's Chaos... come on over and join the fun!

ADDENDUM: As montucky pointed out, this looks like Bunchberry dogwood (Cornus canadensis) and is, in fact, its sister species, the Swedish Cornel (Cornus suecica). According to one reference I found, "both have flowers that bloom explosively." And if you thought it looked like a dogwood blossom, you won't be surprised to know that this tiny shrub is a member of the dogwood family.

  2. The white one looks like our western bunchberry: it could be a relative.

  6. I think the yellow on the right is a buttercup. The white flower is a "Snusblomma". I don´t know the english name.

  8. I believe the yellow one is a type of ranunculus, or buttercup - maybe a Kingcup, if you have them? The yellow violet and the forget-me-not I know, too, but the top right flower is a complete mystery to me! Pretty though!

  9. The bottom one may be a buttercup but I think it has too many petals to be that. It looks a LOT like the Trollius I grow in my garden.

  10. I can't help you with any ID's I'm afraid as flowers are definitely my weak area. Nice collage though whatever they are. Adam @ My Life Outside

  11. The yellow one on the bottom right sure looks like a ranunculus to me. The leaf looks right for it.

I love the one on the top right. That's the kind of plant that the snails in my garden would eat in a heartbeat!

  13. Three of them look familar to me--the violet, the one that montucky said looks like bunch berry and the blue one that looks like a forget me not. Very pretty and delicate. Woodland flowers are some of my very favorite flowers.
